What really is human dignity? Well in the dictionary it says it to be no more than human beings treated as objects. I think that there is so much to talk about because it can apply to many things in school, at home, in the work place, and many other places. I feel that human dignity relates to how a person is treated and what a person is valued in the world. What is anyone worth if they have no dignity in themselves? I believe you need to believe that you have your own human dignity because then you would be worth something. This is me, asking myself what human dignity is, its value and courage to stand up in the world and believe that you’re worth something.
Here are the links to what helped me figure out what
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Human_dignity
http://www.ascensionhealth.org/ethics/public/key_principles/human_dignity.asp
http://web.amnesty.org/library/index/ENGPOL340092005

Social Networking

So in class last week we talked about Social Networking. Since I do a lot of facebooking, it is really easy for me to meet people and talk to others. I recently got a myspace address, so i'm working at making my page a lot better. I keep in contact with a lot of old and now new friends through all of my social networking and it's a lot of fun.

My weekend

I had a really good weekend this last weekend. My tennis team and I went and played tennis in Eau Claire, WI for the day and even though we lost, it was still a good start and end to the fall season. We had a lot of fun as a team and ate at Quizno's! Yesterday my mom, sister, and two of her friends came 3 hours just to visit me here for the day. My mom brought me a whole bunch of decorations for my dorm room and we went to church also. That afternoon since it was so nice of a day, we went down to Canal park and ate at Grandma's. We also rented one of those bikes i think it's called a Deucecoup or something like that. It was soo much fun and we laughed the whole hour that we had it for! It was really windy down at the park but the leaves and the lake were really awesome to look at. We then went to the mall and went shopping and did some other stuff together. I was really happy that they came to see me because I didn't really want to go home this last weekend so it was just a fun day! Well i'm out for the day! later:)

CSS Activities

I have done a lot of things here at CSS, but I think the most interesting has been joing the tennis team. I have met a lot of people and also contiunued my love for the sport. I wasn't planning on joining the team because I thought that it would interfere with my studies, but it has been a great experience and I'm really glad that I'm doing it. Activities with the team and teammates has just been a blast...we went bowling and hung out at our captains house. It's been really fun and I"m really glad that I did it.

Blog Reviews

Brooke Aho’s Blog Reviews

Blog Number 1
1.	Jaspers Army- Inspirational Thoughts
http://community.livejournal.com/__jaspers_army_/1301.html#cutid1
2.	Description and Why Interested- The blog talks about people and their faith being so strong that they didn’t back away from it, and risked being killed because of what they believed. It tells a story about an experience and it’s really great.
3.	Quotes: “I am so grateful to live in a country that I can openly praise God without fear.” “I have seen the world’ Anila said, ‘and it has nothing good, only Jesus is my peace.”
Blog Number 2
1.	911 Questions- The First
http://community.livejournal.com/911_questions/
2.	Description- The male that wrote on this community is from Canada. He wants to let everyone know why he should care about another country’s event that happened 5 years ago. He explains why and adds a lot of articles about the feeling of everybody thinking that the government lied to them. I was interested because I wanted to see what someone outside the countries thoughts were about 9/11.
3.	Quotes: “Why do I give a sh*t about some event that happened nearly five years ago in another country?” “I give a sh*t because it is appalling how many people feel their government lied to them and how many people have died and are dying because of that lie”.
Blog Number 3
1.	Against Pornography- 'Baby, Give Me a Kiss'
http://www.latimes.com/features/printedition/magazine/la-tm-gonewild32aug06,0,5620406.story
2. Description and Why Interested- “Girls Gone Wild” is a famous DVD/show that is coming out to be very popular. This Blog talks about many girls who are comfortable showing their nudity on the internet for millions to see. Joe Francis, founder of “Girls Gone Wild” is producing a big effect on youth becoming involved in this sort of sexuality. I was interested in this topic, because many people have addictions to pornography on the internet and we will be studying this later in the year. I thought it would be good to study it now and get a feel for what really does happen on the internet.
3. Quotes: “"We want to go wild!" “He's made a fortune selling videos of women who agree to flash their breasts and French-kiss their friends for the cameras. In exchange, a girl who goes wild will receive a T-shirt, a pair of panties, maybe a trucker hat. It had been a typical night for him. He'd scoured the club, recruiting young and, for the most part, intoxicated women.”

Interesting Live Journal Community
1. Lake Woebegon- http://community.livejournal.com/lakewobegon/
2. This community shares stories of small town communities and it made me interested just because I grew up in a small town and love hearing stories that are pretty close to being the same as mine.
3. It seems you don't have villages over there, but I think a "small town" is much the same.

Dignitas

my account was created for my college dignitas class and on the subject of blogging. This is officially my first blog. Yay me. This summer there was a lot of things that I did, which was watch movies, and my favorite movie on the summer would be "Failure to Launch" and I didn't ready anything this summer so I would consider People magazine as my favorite book to read this past summer. I listen to so many songs i'm not even sure what my ultimate favorite song would be. There's always so many to choose from. I also went to california this summer for 10 days.
